For all of you that have been saying the government will never ban online poker it's to popular. Or don't worry the anti gambling bill still has to go for a vote in the Senate and it will never pass there. Guess what? They did it. Senate majority leader Bill Frist(R)Tenn. managed to attach anti gaming language to a ports security bill that was rushed through congress late last night. This legislation's main focus was on port security. and there was no recorded vote as no one in congress wants to be pro- terrorist.
The legislation is not aimed at poker players themselves but at site operators and the financial institutions that fund player's accounts. Here is a good summary of the legislation. You can also read more about the subject at Poker News.
